My interest revolves around finding ways of artistic expression which are contemporary, innovative, combine traditional and experimental practices in a personal manner, are sensuous yet thought provoking and engaging. Watercolour and oil painting, collage, photography and digital art techniques are used individually or in combination to create stylized images with an abstract quality and conceptual content. I tend to work in stages, each stage representing a distinct period of creativity. The result could be a cycle or series, a coherent body of several works such as the Magic Gardens portfolio of original prints or, alternatively, a medley of totally independent and self-sufficient pieces meant to explore a diversity of subject matter and experimental techniques. My work evokes a world of colour, light, and fantasy inspired, as it is, by a vision taken from the myriad forms and endless variety of the natural world and the imagination. Simple or intricate, slightly surreal and stylized, my images are intended to please the eye as well as to intrigue the mind.
